Custom Reports Bundle VS PSCB Custom Reports

Custom Reports Bundle was installed in our system several years ago. Our Schools love the reports and use them often. We have now installed PSCB Custom Reports, which I think are much better reports, great functionality with the filters, copy and export buttons. I just don't think we need the Custom Reports Bundle any longer. Is there any report that is available through CRB that was not added to the PSCB?

To the best of my knowledge every CRB customization/report has been updated and is now part of the PSCB catalog. If we missed one, send us the name of the customization for review.

Hi Rob,

Thanks for your response. As far as I know, you have not missed any reports.

My task is similar to yours in that I have to convert 30+ reports (built for CKSD on the old CRB which is based on tabletools ~[x:insertfile;/pds/crb/tabletools.html]and flash buttons) to the new include files which generate HTML 5 buttons.

Jeff Swanberg (from CKSD) began this work. I have picked up the task and extended the model to meet many of the district’s unique needs.

CRB is awesome. It’s amazing how quickly I can update existing reports and create new reports and classes of reports from scratch.

With this said, I’ve spent quite a bit of time looking at the new Base Resources V3.0, “_home”, and a few reports. I think I understand the new paradigm for the HTML 5 tools and why my approach is not working. Therefore, I’d like to check out some assumptions and ask about alternatives:
• The style of filtered reports I’m currently using is self-referencing with a “pause” to reload the pages.
• For tabletools this style seems to work fine. However, with the new pscb_init, all the code is rendered to the page but nothing happens – I suspect because the table isn’t there yet.
• I noticed in the new pages I reviewed that you’re using pairs of pages (StudentList1 & 2, TeacherList1 & 2, attendance +++).

Questions for you:
• To take advantage of ~[wc:pscb_init], tablesort etc., do I need to split my pages into a select/filter page (1) and results page (2).
• Should I be using a different report as a model for my reports which need a filtered solution?

Thanks

Send me a couple of these reports and I will convert them to the PSCB format which includes HTML buttons, sorting and filters.

You can then use these examples to modify other reports.

Hi Rob,

We’re in the process of a number of updates to PS. As a part of this work we are refreshing a number of our highly customized CRB reports.

I would like to add the new HTML 5 buttons from the PSCB – Base plugin. I read a thread in which you mention to “dubbskkhs” on 9/16/19 that you would take one of her reports with the old flash buttons and updated it to use the new buttons. Can you share that report with me as well? I would love to not have to re-invent this part; just copy what you have done to all of my other reports. If it would be easier, I can send you one of our reports.

Thanks,

Eric - CKSD.

Eric,

Send me a couple of your reports for review and I will determine what code needs to be added.

Hi,
One of my administrators uses the report Letter Grades Report and there is a place for Last Grade Update. Right now it's just pulling dates of 0/0/0. How can we get this data to show?
Thank you!
I might have put this question in the wrong place! :(

The CRB Custom Reports bundles are no longer supported by the original developers and they are not fully compatible with latest PowerSchool versions.

All of the CRB grading reports have been updated and enhanced by the PSCB development team. The revised reports are included in the PSCB - Custom Reports (Grading) bundle.

PSCB recommends that Powerschool users transition from all CRB customizations to the PSCB plugins currently available on PowerData Solutions and PowerSource.
