Description

This customization adds a Scheduling: Requests Future Year link to the student navigation menu.

The Requests Future Year page includes the following:

List of student course requests with associated information.

    Credit Hours
    Credit Type
    Request Type
    Elective designation

Request Tally

    Primary Requests
    Primary Credits
    Alternate Requests
    Alternate Credits
    Total Requests
    Total Credits

Cumulative Earned Credits (To Date)

Course Recommendations

Additional Plugin Requirement

The following PSCB plugin should be installed prior to the installation of this reports bundle.

PSCB - Base Resources

Installation

Install in System > System Settings > Plugin Management Configuration

Do not unzip the plugin. Install the entire zip file. Be sure to enable the plugin once it's installed.

If you are updating.
Click on the Plugin name and chose the Update button.
Browse to select the new file and click Submit.
Enable the plugin.

Instructions

Select a school and go to the Powerschool start page.

Select a student.

Click the Scheduling: Requests Future Year link located on the student navigation menu.

I just noticed that one of my courses shows up on the native Course Tally in PowerScheduler, but is does not show in the PSCB version. Are there any parameters that the plug in keys on that I should check on the course?

In PowerScheduler check the Course preference setup for the missing course. Confirm that Terms offered and other information has been entered correctly.

Thanks Rob, That was the problem. There was no term associated with the course. Once we added it it showed up. Thank you.

Hi,
Has anyone seen any documentation about how to mass import recommendations? We have criteria where if students pass an exam type they qualify for a class and it would be much easier to mass upload all students who meet that criteria than have department heads review and add individually. Really struggling to find in PowerSource or through DDA/Data Import Manager. Can anyone help? Thanks!

Confirm that you PowerScheduler setup has been fully completed for the 20-21 school year.

Confirm that the course list displays a Terms Offered value for all courses.

PSCB has no plans to to develop this type of report. I'm not sure which table is being used to store this information.

The Requests Future Year link should appear under Scheduling on the student navigation menu.

If you have enabled the plugin and the link does not appear, you may have a previously customized more2.html file that preventing the link from displaying.

Hi,
So we were playing around with this report putting in recommendations on the Admin side. When you do this, department does not pull in and it space is blank. If departments are viewing by the drop downs provided, they may miss a bunch of recommendations. Can we figure out a way that those providing recommendations from the admin side fall under a department? Thanks!

Hi Rob,
I updated and re-ran this report to see if I could search by department for someone on the admin side, it does not work. She is also a teacher, so I select her name and select all departments it runs. But then when I select her department (Math) it does not work. Any ideas? Could it be because we added it before your update? Should we delete and re-enter?

I love this plugin! Would it be possible to add a report for admins to generate one pdf report that includes all students (separated by student)? I'm asking because due to COVID 19 our counselors need and easy way to send course requests to parents and students. We already have BrightArrow installed and it has the ability to parse and send reports out by student as long as the student's student_number is on the report.

If you install the Mass Print Student Screen plugin (By Adam Larsen) you can mass print the Student Requests Future Year page for a selected group of students.

Is it possible to just print the course requests portion of this page? The tally, cumulative earned credits, and recommendations are not necessarily needed.

No. You would need to further customize the page to remove the items you do not want to print.
