Teacher/Staff Force Password Security v 2.0

Pages to force password rules on teacher and admin passwords. Allows districts to force users to change passwords after a given number of days if they choose. Disctircts can choose to force a minimum number of characters for the password, at least 1 letter, at least 1 number, at least 1 upper case letter, and/or at least 1 non-alphanumeric character. A list of banned words can be created to also force certain words to NOT be included in the password. READ THE DOCUMENTATION VERY CAREFULLY!!

Redirect

Jason,

After installing the pages, it keeps redirecting me back to the password change screen.

I reset the 'password security' options several times. Reset the server, changed passwords to conform to the options selected.

Still keep getting redirected to the password change screen (with no error message box appearing) after successfully changing password.

Re: Redirect

This version isn't compatible with 5.2 or 6. You want to check out http://powerdatasolutions.org/content/teacherstaff-force-password-securi... and to be honest I'm not sure if Jason updated it for PS 6. I suspect it works, but Jason would have to say for sure.

Thanks Brian - I should have posted this comment on the v. 3.1.1 page because that's what I installed. Still having the same issue.

IE

I recently setup my test server and everything was working correctly. Was using IE to login to PowerSchool. Installed the forced password custom files and now receive the following message on the admin login page:

"You are trying to use Internet Explorer to open PowerSchool. This browser is NOT able to run all parts of PowerSchool. If you are not able to use any of the PowerSchool functions please log in with another browser such as Firefox. If another browser is not available on your computer please submit a tech request and this issue will be addressed."

In addition, when you change your password, it takes you back to the password screen, it doesn't let you get past it.

Help!

Has anyone tried on 5.2

Has anyone tried using this on 5.2? Do you know it will not work?

Forced PW security Tried on 5.2

I can confirm that there will be changes that are necessary. If you tried to implement this version without any changes, you will likely see a number of issues including people constantly expiring each time they log in. I went though that at the beginning of the year.

From what I've found so far, it a small change. I just reimplemented yesterday though so there could be additional changes/issues that I've yet to discover.

I'll share what I find with Jason

Jason,
Is the update in the works to bring this customization to 5.2.0.9?
