Teacher Attendance Submission Status Modification

Summary:
This customization modifies the results of the teacher attendance submission status page. Any class sections or courses that are marked to exclude from ADA calculations will also be ignored by the status. The status icon colors are updated to reflect the proper status as the sections are ignored. The details popup windows are altered to reflect what class sections are being ignored by this modification.

Browser Note:
This customization makes use of a lot of javascript to update the page. It has been tested and proven to work for Firefox 3.5 and IE8. It should be compatible with other browsers, though they have not been tested.

v1.2:
-Added a check for exclude from ADA/ADM on courses.

Not working at all

This has the potential to be a great boon to our attendance secretary. Unfortunately, it doesn't seem to do anything on our system. (PS 6.0.1)

I've tried it on a PC (Firefox, IE) and a Mac (Opera, Safari). I have made sure customization is enabled, and I even changed the title of the screen to make sure PS was grabbing the file from the custom web_root. The title DID change, but the screen still functions as before. Any suggestions?

EDIT: Apparently (not sure yet), the school has an image server and scripts need to be put there? That would certainly explain why simple text changes work but more substantial functions don't.

Yes, if you have an image

Yes, if you have an image server then the /scripts folder that is included in this package needs to be copied to the image server.

3 teachers with ada exclude still showing

This is a great fix to actually showing who did not take attendance. I have 3 teachers that I have marked their sections as exclude from ada and are still showing red and showing those sections. Any ideas?

re: 3 teachers with ada exclude still showing

Difficult to say for sure where the problem is. I think the query itself is solid so if anything I'd be blaming some piece of the script.

The query takes course_number-section_number from the sections table and then the script compares it to the text that ends up getting displayed on the popups for each teacher. Perhaps the script is failing on the text comparison.

Thanks for pointing me in

Thanks for pointing me in the right thinking mode. One of the teachers had an ' in the name and the other 2 teachers followed her, I took out the ' and now they are okay. Again thanks.

Safari

Not a huge deal for my district, but the script doesn't quite work in Safari 4.0.3. Everything seems to work except the ignore ADA exclusion. Works find in Firefox, though.

ADA courses still showing

Maybe I'm misunderstanding...is this supposed to ignore periods that are not marked to include in ADA, or just courses that are marked as not counting towards ADA?

EDITED: Nevermind...figured it out.
