PowerDataSolutions (PDS) is officially 1 year old now! It's hard to believe its already been a year. So much has happened in the past 12 months and those of us contributing to PDS would like to thank everyone for their support and patience as we work to get more and more content out to you. Over the past year:
- PDS was created with a basic layout
- Contributors were added to the site
- The site layout was modified
- Pearson moved to Oracle
- PDS released 100s of versions of customizations
- PDS tried to catch up with Oracle
- PDS teamed up with Creative Breakthroughs
- Creative Breakthroughs donated the current PDS layout to help the cause
- Over 1000 users have visited and/or joined PDS
- PDS' popularity uses up all purchased space (more has since been purchased by the good people at Creative Breakthroughs)
- Thousands of downloads have occurred
- Probably thousands of messages have been written :D
So, what will the next year bring? I honestly don't know. But here's to another productive year!

Out of the blue over the weekend Calendar pop up in Att. Frequen
Jacqueline J. M. Brzezinski
I am a bit frustrated. If I search on Calendar it brings me to the Verification and Attendance Frequency Bleep that I am in the right spot. But when I go into the link. I loose the trail on District/Misc and the pop up calendar and how to remove it from the Attendance Frequency School level reports, because it suddenly appeared and does not allow me to change the date any longer! On the District Misc page it is a red box with an X too. I am not sure, where to put my trouble tickets in. I am posting a new comment, but I should I post this somewhere else. I did not have an issue for over 3 weeks...I have no idea why it is not working. Jacquie Please reply to post or direct me, please to place to enter trouble ticket.. Thanks again. Jacquie
Re: Out of the blue over the weekend Calendar pop up in Att. Fre
After you install the calendar pop-up add-on and select a color scheme many of the report on PDS require the use of the calendar pop-up. This is to require the proper date entry format. You can delete the preference that controls the calendar or delete the if statement on the custom page.

Thanks.. I will try that. Jacquie

Search in DB Log Files
We have a few schools that are transferring students into our Alternative High School without authorization. We have run DBLog Transaction report and have not been able to pinpoint who is transferring students into the school. For accountability purposes, we would like to track who is transferring students without permission. If anyone can assist me in a report or a way that we could retrieve this data that would be great!
Thanks for any support on this subject.
Search in DB Log Files
I actually just had to do this recently. You'd pull up the student in the DDA and go to Table View. Scroll down to 'Log' and you'll see something that looks kindof like:
[8/20/2008-13:18:13-u451-s84]Transferred out
After the date and time is u451, which is user 451. This is the internal ID number for the employee who made the change. I keep an extract of Staff ID's handy for this purpose.
I'm kindof a PowerSchool newbie, so maybe there is an easier way, but this worked for me!
