Live Side Teacher Free Report V 1.1
Live Side Teacher Free Report (Oracle)
This new report displays teacher free periods. Users can search by teacher, department, period, rotation day or any combination of them. The user must select a date to search which means you can search months into the future. This allows for finding free teachers during future testing dates (that was my user's first reaction).
Version History:
V 1.0 (09/23/2008)
– Initial Release
V 1.1 (10/22/2008)
– Page headers print on all pages
– Fixed error when selecting “Any Teacher” which used to show inactive teachers as well as staff, lunch staff, and subs.

Alll teachers Free all periods
When we run this report, no matter which teacher I ask for, the report claims that the teacher is free all periods. This is also true for any day as well, any teacher on any day returns data which claims they are free all periods. Is there something in our teacher schedules which maybe is not set correctly?
re:All teachers Free all periods
I'm seeing the same issue. Did you have any luck with correcting it on your end?
Same Issues...
I too am getting the incorrect data!

Term Selection
I found that if the teacher had a Semester 2 course 3rd period and Semester 1 had nothing scheduled for 3rd period that the teacher didn't show up on the list. Making you believe the teacher was not available during S1 when actually they are.
This will be a very useful report if we could narrow down the term.
Have a great day!

re: Term Selection
You must pick a date within the term you are looking for.

re: Term Selection
Jason,
I'm seeing the same issue. For example, I have 12/8/08 selected as a date, the teacher selected, and the rest as default. The selected teacher has classes every period except for period 1, and 4C, where he has classes S1 1(B), a S1 4C(A-B), and a S2 4C(A), those are three separate classes. So this teacher should be listed as free 1(A) and 1(B) with a 1st semester date, and 1(A) and 4C(B) for the 2nd semester date.
No matter what date I choose, the results are always the same. It doesn't change for dates in either 1st or 2nd semester. It's only reporting 1(A) as the free period. 1(B) and 4C(B) never appear because during the opposite semester, there is a class taught during that period.
If I have some time I could look at the code further, but I'm behind on other non PS tasks. I'll be willing to test if necessary.

I'm seeing the same issue.
I'm seeing the same issue. I'm looking for teachers free S2 for duty assignment. I set the date for the report to 1/29/2010 which is a valid S2 date. For a teacher who is free 1,4,5,6 S1 and 1,2,5,6 S2 the report returns 1,5,6 (the periods free both semesters). I tried setting the term in PS to both S2 and YL but the same result was returned. Conversely, running the report with a S1 date also returns periods 1,5,6 as free.
We have a DayA DayB schedule. I tried running for DayA, DayB and Any day. Again only returned the yearlong frees of 1,5,6.

Staff and teachers
For some reason, I am seeing all staff and teachers, active and inactive.
From the drop down list, I only see current teachers, so I know that coding is correct.
If I just choose the period or day, I get all teachers with or w/o classes during that period.
This would be the perfect report at testing time. We are always trying to find the best way to find this data, without having to go through the master schedule.
