Fix tlist_sql error from 5.2.0.9
5.2.0.9 introduced a problem for the "few" people using tlist_sql in a custom page. In order to fix this a certain pref has to be set. This customization will allow users to simply click a checkbox to enable that pref. After uploading the page to your server log in and navigate to district > Misc and check the box to allow complex tlist_sql pages. Then the "few" pages you may have installed that used to work will work again.
Please note, there are 3 versions included.
1 - Basic -> for use in districts that do not use the verification or calendar customizations
2 - wCalendar -> for use in districts that also use the calendar customization
3 - wVerification -> for use in districts that also use the teacher verification pages
Only install the one that pertains to your district.

Blank Report
I am running 6.1. I have tried before applying the fix and after applying the fix. Both result in blank reports. I also tried changing the date format from 09 to 2009 and 10 to 2010. Any ideas ? Thanks for the help.
RE: Blank Report
Which report or reports are you referring to specifically?
Matt
I feel special, I forgot to
I feel special, I forgot to mention the reports. I tried running the "Student Attendance RE Reports" and the result was a blank page. Thanks for the assistance.
RE: I feel special, I forgot to
If you're running it for all the students, try running it for just a small selection instead (be sure to choose current selection only when running the report as it's easy to miss). Also, make sure to change the variable mentioned in the readme file to match your district.

Problem with performing these steps
We just upgraded from 5.1.3 to 6.0.1 last week. We are getting these TList_Sql errors on the server. I downloaded and unzipped the fix that is here but I am not sure which one to use. I don't know what the difference is between Basic, w/Calendar or w/verification. How do I find this in my power school system? Also, I do not have a choice under District>Miscellaneous to click on to Allow Complex Tlist_sql pages.
I am still a newbie with this program so I need to know what this all means and how to fix this properly. According to Power Source, their solution is to disable it from the server end which they really do not recommend. In the meantime, the users are generating these erros but what does it really mean and how is it effecting their data?
RE: Problem with performing these steps
If you host your own server you can fix the error by following the steps in PowerSource Article 55553. Otherwise you can use the fix from PDS. I've had trouble extracting the download file as well, using both 7zip and Windows. So instead of extracting I do the following:
1 - double click on the download file
2 - double click on the AllowComplexTlistV1_0 folder
3 - double click on the Basic folder
4 - double click on the District folder
5 - drag the misc-district.html file out of the folder onto the desktop
6 - rename it to misc-district2.html
7 - copy the file to the custom admin/district folder
8 - in a browser go to /admin/district/misc-district2.html and check the box to enable tlist_sql and submit
By doing steps 6-8 you don't have to worry about which version to use or if it'll cause problems with upgrades. Once things are working I usually go ahead and remove the file.

Folder name ends with a space
I think I figured out what's causing problem with this zip file, the folder basic has a trailing space on it, and WinRAR is complaining about that, so if you remove the space at the end, you should have no problem extracting it. At least this is the case with WinRAR.
Where on server?
Could you be more specific about exactly where on the server this page needs to go?
Thank you for all you do for the PS community. I am in awe of your brains and generosity.
Re: Where on Server?
In the different folder there is a misc-district.html. If you have the PDS Grade Verification Package you will want to use the wVerification folder and copy the into the \custom\web_root\admin\district folder.

Thank you, Brian. The Find Me alert is now working. What a beautiful thing! Our secretaries thank you profusely.
7-zip error on the BAsic
The only file it will not unzip is the Basic, which is the one that I need. We do not have any of the others customizations. I got this figured out. I was not able to just unzip the entire folder it would give me an error on the Basic folder and not extract the files. If you run into this here is what I did to get it to work:
Open the zip in 7-zip then I tested each level to make there were no errors...oddly enough the errors that were present on extraction were no longer there. I drilled down to the actual Basic html page inside 7-zip, ran the test and no errors. I then right clicked on the page and selected copy to. Rather than copying directly to the custom web root folder, I copied to the desktop and the file copied and then I copied it to the custom web root folder from the desktop. I had tried this exact same process before selecting the Basic folder and it would NOT copy no matter where I tried to put it. So if you experience issues try to copy just the html page and see if that works.
Password
When trying to extract the files a window pops up "Password Needed" stating file "District" is password protected. Please enter a password. This is as far as I can get. I have never had issues extracting any other files.
Re: Password
Try using a zip program like Stuff-it, WinZip or better yet and free 7-zip.
There is no password for this zip file, just zip programs that don't conform to zip standards.

I used 7-zip and it opened
I used 7-zip and it opened fine, with MS extractor it asked for the PW.
AllowCompletTlist
Has the password issue been resolved. I still cannot open the file...asking for password!!
re: AllowCompletTlist
What is asking you for a password? My file will not.

AllowComplexTlist
It is asking me for a district password? What is it?
Password
It is also asking me for a district password.
AllowComplexTlist-Thank you
Just wanted to say thanks for keeping on top of these issues. The AllowComplexTlist feature worked like a charm to fix my problem when I couldn't use the Execute command. I and my teachers REALLY appreciate your efforts to make things easier and more functional.

Using 7-zip - asking for a password
Hello,
It looks like the zip file is password protected, what is the password?
Re: AllowComplexTlist
What if we use both the calendar and verification option then which file do I replace it with?
Re: Re: AllowComplexTlist
The easiest thing at the moment would be to temporarily rename your old file.

AllowComplexTlist
I had the same problem with it asking for a password.
Thank you

Re: AllowComplexTlist
Try using a program like 7-zip. Its free and opens many compressed file types.
