AlertNow Attendance Export

This Reporting Engine report will automatically upload the daily attendance to AlertNow to enable automated nightly attendance calls to the parents for a specified building.

1. Save the attached file to your computer
2. Go to System (under Setup) -> Import Report Template
3. Click on Choose file
4. Find the report on your computer and choose it
5. Click on the Import button
6. Click on Reports
7. Click on Engine
8. Click on Setup
9. Click on HS Attendance Export
10. Scroll down to the bottom and set your account settings for your AlertNow account

Automatic Test Server Update on Windows V 1.2

For PowerSchool 5.2.x (Oracle) on Windows ONLY.

This customization will help you automate your live server backups and your restores to a test server.

customscripts/cleanArray.bat:
This script is called by updateTestServer.bat automatically and does not need to be scheduled for regular use.
- What it does:
1. Cleans out the server array information
- Useful when:
1. Test environment is a single sever while the live environment is multiple server
2. Test environment is on a newer version of PowerSchool

Mac OS X Backup Script

The attached shell script will run automatically every night to create a single file backup of PowerSchool so that you can do an off site backup in case the hard drive in your server crashes.

1. Create a folder on the top level of your hard drive named /PowerSchoolData. If you upgraded from PowerSchool Premier 5.1 that folder will already exist.
2. Put the attached script in the /etc directory on your server.

Server Backup Script

When 5.2 was introduced using the Oracle Database, new management features where added. This included the ability to restore our own servers. The problem with this is there is no single file that can be copied directly off the server as a backup. Also due to the flashback technology of Oracle you may not be able to backup the Database by normal backup means because the files are in use.

SSL Off Campus V1.0

Controls if users log in from SSL or not based on if they are on campus or not. Requires the district having a PHP server to host 1 small page.

copyCustomWildcards.bat

Copies custom wildcards from the custom wildcards folder to the system wildcards folder. Schedule this task and it will make sure any new wildcards you create are always moved to the system folder (necessary to make new wildcards work). Edit for your server settings.

cleanupBackups.bat

Cleans up the backup files on a Windows 2003 Server. Keeps backups that have been created in the last 21 days. Also cleans up transaction logs for the same time period. Edit drive letters for your server.
